Accounting is dedicated to providing accurate and timely financial data to assist in the management and safe guarding of company assets, maintaining compliance with GAAP and all regulatory filings established by State and Federal agencies, and providing supportive services that meet the needs of Cambridge Systematics. Accounting offers services to our customers with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and providing reliable resources to aid CS in meeting all goals.
Our organization is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead our accounting team, enhance overall performance, and implement operational improvements that support our purpose-driven organization.
The Controller will provide financial oversight, mentor and develop a team, and optimize processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented leader with a strong understanding of GAAP, FAR and financial compliance who thrives in a collaborative environment, values continuous improvement, and is motivated by purpose-driven work.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting and finance functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, and all applicable financial regulations
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes
- Manage cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance performance
- Provide financial analysis to support executive decision-making
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and regulatory agencies
- Lead, mentor and inspire an accounting team
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, financial reporting, and compliance regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving, relationship building and leadership skills
