General Overview:
The Controller works across the organization to oversee the accounting operations, ensuring accurate preparation of monthly financial reports, budget and tax compliance, and ensuring processes and controls are designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy and timeliness of the company's reported financial results. They also provide support with strategic decision making.

The physical working conditions of this position include an office environment. Sitting and working on a computer for extended periods of time are common.
Hybrid Work Environment:
We are currently in a hybrid work environment where employees are required to be in the office on Wednesday and a minimum of two other days per week (a total of three days in the office and 2 days remote). This work arrangement is subject to change and is at the discretion of Waycrosse.

General Overview:
The Controller works across the organization to oversee the accounting operations, ensuring accurate preparation of monthly financial reports, budget and tax compliance, and ensuring processes and controls are designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy and timeliness of the company's reported financial results. They also provide support with strategic decision making.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Corporate financial reporting:
- Reviews and approves timely and complete monthly financial statements
- Prepares requested information for Board meetings
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
- Monitor cash flow management and forecasting
- Ensure a system of controls and documentation is in place for corporate and client financial reporting
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are in place for Waycrosse and consolidated subsidiaries
- Budget and Compliance:
- Oversee annual budget process
- Forecasts financial performance and analyzes variances
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements including preparation and submission of required tax returns
- Oversee annual audit
- Client accounting operations:
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines are met to support money movement operations and reconciliation
- Provide backup and support to ensure payment of bills and payments are processed in a timely manner
- Ensure underlying client financial reporting requirements are in place
- System Maintenance:
- Ensure accounting system set up, configuration, and ongoing maintenance processes and procedures are followed
- Manage new or existing technology rollouts and enhancements, including the development of communication and training plans required
- Shared administrative responsibilities for JD Edwards accounting software
- Partner with IT to troubleshoot and find solutions to system issues
Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in the Financial Services Industry, with strong knowledge of investment accounting, GAAP, and client personal financial reporting
- CPA designation preferred
- Experience with corporate tax reporting and filing
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences with various levels of financial knowledge
- Proven ability to think of the big picture along with a strong understanding of details
- Strong operational focus with a demonstrated commitment to meeting daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines
- Experience working on a large G/L package, preferably JD Edwards, and Investment management software
- Experience with implementing technology projects, including participation on and awareness of solution design, system testing, data validation, and business process reengineering
