The Controller/Vice President of Accounting plays a pivotal role in decision-making processes by providing strategic financial insights and recommendations to drive the company's growth and profitability.
Responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee cash flow, optimize working capital, and manage liquidity to support day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure the company complies with accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements.
- Manage relationships with financial institutions, oversee banking activities, and optimize capital structure.
- Continuously improve financial processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy.
- Oversee insurance management initiatives to maintain professional, management, general, and property liability coverages.
- Communicate financial performance and strategies effectively to internal stakeholders, investors, and board members.
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's objectives, ensuring financial stability and sustainable growth.
- Identify financial risks, implement risk mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications

- Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (preferably NetSuite); knowledge of data processing and business intelligence tools a plus.
- Well-organized with the ability to prioritize.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical capability.
Licensure/Certifications/Education
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Valid CPA certification.
- Healthcare experience.
- Experience with PE backed companies preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
