Controls Engineer - B Shift (Days)

Rotating 2-2-3 schedule

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Proficient at Allen-Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Fluent in various industrial communication protocols.
• Understands and able to program and troubleshoot variable frequency drives.
• Able to install, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Plans and leads new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
• Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
• Installs control and power distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
• Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Plans repair to faulty equipment or systems and obtain or provide recommendations for updates.
• Recommend new policies or procedures as necessary.
• Plan for execution of engineering schedules.
• Create process specification and design standards.
• Work well with all trades in a team environment.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's Degree; or seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
