Job Description
Job Title: Controls Engineer
Location: Burr Ridge, IL
Position Summary:
The Controls Engineer is responsible for the Development of Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) for agricultural and construction equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop, Simulate, Implement and Test control algorithms.
Adapt the control algorithms to different CNH applications
Support development of plant model for early validation of control strategies
Update and maintain the CNH's controls requirements
Contributes to the overall profitability of new and existing products
Contributes to the increase of overall product quality
Contributes to cost reduction ideas related to component design on new and existing products
Participates in design reviews, conducts DFMEAs and develop and manage validation plans
Provides frequent team progress updates to direct manager or Competency Center managers as needed
Ensures the use of engineering standards, methodologies and global product development processes into engineering team's daily work tasks
Ensures completion of engineering activities for meeting platform goals.
Fosters an environment that welcomes and encourages new and innovative design concepts, inventions, patents and product opportunities for improvement; may personally obtain inventions/patents giving CNH a competitive edge over industry competitors.
Frequently provides recommendations to direct manager and/or to other managers
Frequently communicates with cross functional support groups within the product platform and/or component product lines
Frequently communicates with suppliers
On occasion, may communicate with dealers and equipment users regarding existing product issues
