The Audio Video Controls Engineer reports to the manager of Show Control, Audio/Video, and Resort Wide Systems within the Design and Engineering division at the Disneyland Resort. This is an Onsite Full-Time 18-month Project Hire role based in Anaheim, CA.

What You Will Do
  • Design, configure, install, test, document, and sustain hardware and software control systems to support Show Audio Video Systems at the Disneyland Resort and other Disney parks.
  • Directly participate in installations and supervise installation work by vendors. The components in these systems include CCTV cameras, microphones, public address systems, party line phones, audio and video sources/routers/ playback, audio amplifiers, speakers, and projectors.
  • Engage in project estimating, scheduling, planning, and training.
  • Partner with other engineering teams and business lines to ensure attraction reliability and safety.

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • AV integrating or engineering experience.
  • Experience with software and computer systems.
  • Ability to learn new systems.
  • Understanding of electronic principles, specifically DC (Direct Current) power systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic components and computer-based systems at the hardware, software, and system levels.
  • Knowledge of networking principles.
  • Prior use of vital field tools: multimeter, oscilloscope, network analyzer, SPL meter, waveform monitor.
  • Proficient in completing the controls project life cycle: requirements definition, design, procurement/fabrication, installation, acceptance test, document, and provide training.
  • Work extended/off-hours when needed to support project or Resort AV engineering issues.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of professional engineering experience in AV automation or control systems.
  • Experience with theme parks or industrial control systems with man-machine interfaces.
  • Experience with audio-video integration, such as at stadiums and auditoriums.
  • Experience with designing and troubleshooting audio over Ethernet and video over Ethernet.
  • Experience with high-order programming, scripting, and languages such as Python, Lua, and Netlinx.
  • AUTOCAD skills, able to read schematics and assembly drawings.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.

Education
  • You have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Audio Engineering, Broadcast Engineering, or a similar field that is ABET-accredited.
  • Preferred: Professional Engineering License.

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA if $93,000.00 to $116,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and /or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
