JOB SUMMARY
The Controls Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, programming, and support of the Building Management, process control systems, including notifications and round-the-clock call-ins. The Engineer will also manage capital projects related to all control upgrades as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
Manage the PMs and repairs of the Building Management System.
Manage the PMs and repairs of the process control systems - PLC's, Citect, DeltaV, and standalone systems.
Develop, implement, and manage assigned capital and expense projects that are 100% control related or the control portion of assigned projects.
Develop long term performance metrics for process and building control systems.
Manage Control Department projects, upgrades and serve as a project team leader for assigned capital and expense related projects. Project assignments will support the areas of Manufacturing, Maintenance, Facilities/Infrastructure, R&D, and QA/QC. Projects will typically improve the operation, throughput, safety, or compliance of facilities and equipment throughout the plant.
Quantify and present business justifications of proposed projects and report results of implemented projects.
Study systems to identify and quantify wasted time, materials, or energy sources.
Manage all aspects of compliance documentation supporting Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Engineering processes where Control and BMS systems apply.
Recommend, develop, and implement facility improvements or capital projects to eliminate the identified waste.
Ensure compliance of projects with all relevant EI, EU, and FDA/cGMP regulations, guidelines and policies. This compliance includes, but is not limited to, creating and providing training for production, helping validate new equipment, coordinating install work around manufacturing schedule.
Standardize work spaces, methods, and equipment where applicable.
Assist maintenance department as needed.
Trains others as required.
Identify and procure spare parts for control system related equipment.
Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or Bachelor Degree in an Engineering or Electrical, or related field
5+ years' experience in working with controls and automation in a GMP environment is required
Specialized training in PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), BAS (Building Automation Systems), Rockwell Factory Talk View, Delta V (Distributed Control Systems), and Citect
Experience with Siemens Apogee or similar control software is a plus
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers and Human Machine Interface (HMI) is required.
Ability to learn and assimilate technical matters, troubleshoot machine problems, recommend solution and/or fix problems is required
Working knowledge and experience with the basics of electricity, pneumatics, hydraulics, HVAC, and general mechanics is required.
