Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This class of positions encompasses supervisory or administrative work of varying degrees of difficulty and with varying degrees of latitude for independent initiative and judgment as follows: 1. For activities of professional and non-professional staff in delivering a health therapy program and support services including physical, occupational, inhalation specialties, radiological, laboratory, emergency, ambulatory care services, medical utilization review and quality assurance. 2. Coordinates rehabilitation services, as indicated so as to integrate these programs with other health care setting programs to maximize patient treatment and recovery. Coordinates, supervises and monitors medical utilization review and/or quality assurance programs for health care settings. 3. For planning, controlling, coordinating administrative and office operations and interpreting compliance with predetermined standards for quality care in a variety of organizational settings and modalities in the delivery of business, office and management support systems. Integrates, coordinates these programs, operations, functions and services with other health care settings and Central Office departments to optimal levels of performance in the administration and supervision of such functional activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follows all departmental procedures. Demonstrates knowledge and skills in accomplishing the following, but not limited to:
Identify billing issues and corrects them in Epic
Present on site to assist doctors, physician assistants, nurses with any questions regarding billing and authorizations.
Send insurance verification requests for Epifix/Epicord patients via MiMedx IVR portal
Send request to add HCPCS for skin allografts products to our Charge Description Master file
Resolve inquiries and coordinate services (i.e., member eligibility etc.)
Ensure that requests to add HCPCS for skin allograft have a contract with HHC
Communicates via email and Epic chat with doctors, physician assistants and nurses any issue with documentation, progress notes
Work with Clinical Analyst and Lead Physician Assistant to ensure proper billing to maximize revenue
Identify trends and areas for improvement in the Wound Care Clinic
Undertake special project and/or assignments in support of Wound Care Clinic
Knowledge of wound etiology, tissue management, risk identification and prevention, wound assessment, wound healing and monitoring, treatment recommendations, legal, ethics and policy.
Assist in bringing on new adjunctive treatment modalities such as the Epicord and Qutenza.
Oversee the Radiology Authorization Unit
Provide training for Oncology Authorization and Radiology Authorization.
Obtain authorizations for Oncology and radiology
Work on billing work queues such as coverage oversight
Retrieve Reports such as Wound Care Visit Audit Report, Post Charge Report and User productivity report.
Present Powerpoint presentation to educate other staff the workflow process of Wound Care and Oncology authorization.
Research and provide summary explanations for payments denials.
Attend Meetings such as radiology authorization, wound care, oncology and revenue integrity meeting.
Identify systems issues for resolutions such as oncology drugs not populating in the referral side bar.
Assist Wound Care Specialist in workflow processes such as wrap up charges and creating treatment plan for new adjunctive treatment modality in Wound Care.
Assist w/ ordering prescription for Qutenza in Wound.

Minimum Qualifications
1. A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or Rehabilitation Counseling; and
2. Two (2) years of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment, one (1) year of which included experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in such occupations as physical, occupational, inhalation, speech and audiology therapy or as Medical/Laboratory Technologist, Microbiologist (various specialties), Chemist (biochemist), Radiation and X-Ray Technician; or two (2) years of responsible level experience in business management systems or general administration including one (1) year in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or
3. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines listed in "1" above; and
4. Three (3) years of full-time experience, as described in "2" above, including two (2) years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in occupations, as listed in "2" above; or
5. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
