Job Summary
In line with 49 CFR 625, 630, and 673 requirements, the Asset Information Coordinator will assist with the asset management program in identifying, recording, and analyzing asset information for asset lifecycle management. Working within Asset Management, this position will liaise with capital programs, including external designers and contractors, to ensure that asset information is being tracked, recorded, and delivered according to the
MBTA's Asset Management standards.
The Asset Information Coordinator will be engaged in data collection, and analysis covering facilities, power, signals, track, and structure assets. The Asset Information Coordinator will assist in the oversight of the asset management program by undertaking tasks to mature the asset registry and expand adoption of the Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAMS).

Job Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Validate asset information via both desktop exercises and field visits of the infrastructure throughout the MBTA.
- Oversee, manage, and provide basic training for personnel to collect, verify, and document asset data as part of the Capital Delivery and Asset Management Programs.
- Review and update engineering documents in line with asset management methodologies.
- Review and validate new asset data from major Capital Programs and act as handover liaison between Asset Management, Engineering and Capital Division (ECD), Operations, and Engineering & Maintenance.
- Assist with the continuous improvement of both the Asset Management Program and asset documentation.
- Respond to each inquiry, whether from a customer, vendor, or co-worker in a professional and courteous manner.
- Enforce the Department of Asset Management policies and procedures by monitoring compliance as it relates to assets, audit requirements and other MBTA manuals and directives.
- On occasion be flexible to work all shifts and/or locations as assigned or directed.
- Uphold the rights and interests of the Authority while building and maintaining an effective relationship with employees.
- Assist in the management of a workforce by ensuring the fair and consistent application and strict adherence to the rules, regulations, collective bargaining agreements (if applicable) and policies of the Authority including the EEO, Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment and Anti-Retaliation policies.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Two (2) years of professional experience in one of the following disciplines with professional knowledge of industry engineering principles and practices related to transportation, transit, building management, or construction.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, planning, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications.
- The ability to read, interpret and make recommendations based on technical documents and drawings including blueprints, maintenance manuals, specifications, and schematics.
- The ability to work in an active railroad and maintenance environment and the physical constraints associated with the working environments.
- The ability to quickly learn new technologies tools and processes.
- The ability to effectively work with employees at all levels within the Authority, vendors, and individuals outside the agency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- The ability to pay attention to details, use sound judgment, and prioritize work.
- The ability to work any and all shifts and/or locations as assigned or directed.
Substitutions Include
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Transportation, or another related field substitutes for two (2) years of work experience.
- A High School Diploma or GED with an additional seven (7) years of directly related experience substitutes for the Bachelor's degree requirement.
- An Associate's degree from an accredited institution and an additional three (3) years of directly related experience substitute for the Bachelor's degree requirement.
Preferred Experience and Required Skills
- A Bachelors' degree from an accredited institution in a technical field related to Electrical, Power, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of experience working in Transit or the Railroad.
- Extensive experience in technical design, inspection, rating schemes, and rehabilitation experience on transit infrastructure projects.
- Experience in Railroad or Transit infrastructure design and build.
- Basic knowledge of AREMA, Asset Management principles, and EAMS.
