Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, hours can vary based on business needs
Pay Range: $80,000-95,000 per year, depending on education and experience
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:
The Clinical Laboratory Manager assists with the administration and oversite of all aspects of the Laboratory Department. Duties include but are not limited to; performing testing procedures and patient care; oversee Laboratory personnel including performance, skills assessment, evaluations and disciplinary suggestions and follow through from Senior Leadership or Human Resources; evaluate services and equipment needs, supplies, service schedules, quality control, registration/licensure and follow all regulatory (CLIA) guidelines under the direction of the Laboratory Director; foster teamwork, listening skills, cooperation and show consideration when communicating or interacting with patients and other healthcare team members; follow and participate in Compliance, Quality, Safety and policy and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Promotes a positive work environment and contributes to a dynamic team focused work unit that actively helps one another to achieve optimal department results. Collaborates with all members of the patient care team by actively communicating and reporting pertinent patient care information and data in a comprehensive manner.
- Evaluates and hires job applicants, organizes or administers training and laboratory orientation.
- Arrange work schedules, reviews staff performance and handles disciplinary actions.
- Supervise and perform lab work at multiple locations to ensure timely completion of service requests, providing lab equipment instructions or procedural guidance, anticipate potential problems and help staff to resolve them as they occur to get back on schedule.
- Arrange consultations or on-site training with experts or vendors whose knowledge can help with the completion of work tasks.
- Works closely with lab staff, Practice Administrators, Market Director, and Market Medical Director to ensure accurate, efficient and timely reporting for all laboratory test results.
- Oversees technical standard operating procedures, including development, validation, and approval. Oversees the quality assurance plan for the laboratories of Complete Health in the Alabama market as required by regulatory bodies. Assists with and supervises the maintenance of the lab and equipment. Maintenance usually involves inspection, cleaning, calibration, testing and repair of lab equipment; and organization and cleaning of the lab, including preparation and storage rooms.
- Works with Practice Administrators and the Market Director to consolidate laboratory services in the Alabama Market and assists Practice Administrators with best practices for specimen collection, specimen preparation, orders, and arrangements to courier specimens to an offsite lab location as necessary.
- Oversees activities associated with the preparation for laboratory surveys for everyday readiness. Facilitates follow-up for any deficiencies cited with a corrective action plan.
- Oversees medical laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
- Oversees there is a safe environment within the Laboratory, following all policies and procedures for safety, hazardous materials, security and emergency preparedness.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Licensed MD/DO/DPM AND certified in anatomic or clinical pathology OR 1 year laboratory training or experience in non-waived specialty/subspecialty of service OR
- Doctoral or Master's degree in laboratory science AND 1 year laboratory training or experience in the non-waived specialty / subspecialty of service OR
- Bachelor's degree in laboratory science AND 2 years laboratory training or experience in the non-waived specialty / subspecialty of service OR
- Associate degree in medical laboratory technology and 2 years laboratory training or experience.
