Job Summary
Are you passionate about supporting families? Do you want to be part of and lead an impactful team? Do you have good customer service and organizational skills? Are you a critical thinker? As the Core Services Supervisor you will play an integral role in ensuring families receive services. In this position you will be responsible for supervising a team of four Core Services Navigators and two support staff. The Core Services Team is responsible for staffing/sending referrals for services, attending meetings, processing Flex Funds Requests and Core Services Provider billing. You will work closely with another Core Services supervisor and help support a Core Services Provider Network of approximately 80 community providers.
Hiring Range: $75,000.00 - $82,000.00 annually
Anticipated Hiring Rate: $78,929.76 annually
This is a child protection position. Child protection includes engaging families. It is reasonable to anticipate the need for flexibility in work hours periodically to accommodate client schedules. The average workday hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am -5:00pm. Schedule subject to change. Hybrid schedule available upon successful completion of probationary period; subject to change

Supervises daily operations of the Core Services program within the Children, Youth, and Family Services Division of the El Paso County Department of Human Services (DHS) mission to preserve and rehabilitate families while protecting children. Oversees coordination of services to provide clinical planning, monitoring, and recommendations for the Core Services Program. Coordinates with the Practice Unit and is responsible for primary decision-making of child protection practices as needed.

Supervision Exercised: This classification requires supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees or unit(s) including providing input on hiring/disciplinary action and work objectives/ effectiveness, performance evaluations, and realigning work as needed. A first-line or second-line supervisor typically performs these tasks.
Supervision Received: Receives administrative supervision. This classification typically performs job duties and resolves conflict according to their own judgment and initiatives, requesting supervisory assistance only when necessary. Special projects are managed with little oversight, and assignments may be reviewed upon completion. Performance reviewed periodically.

Duties are primarily performed in an office environment with some travel for home visits, development of community resources, community events, and meetings. This position may require occasional lifting, such as files, supplies, children, and car seats. Hybrid remote work environment dependent upon Department discretion and business needs. May be exposed to hostile family situations/individuals and unsanitary and hazardous conditions. Reliable transportation is required as you will be utilizing your own registered and insured personal vehicle to transport clients as needed; mileage reimbursement is available upon request. This position may require a 24/7 on-call and after-hours rotational schedule; some evening or weekend work may be required. Local and non-local travel, including possible out-of-state travel, may be required.

- Supervises daily operations required to provide clinical planning, monitoring, and recommendations for the Core Services program.
- Supervises assigned staff within the Support & Services Unit, including conducting unit meetings, ensuring work is performed in a timely and accurate manner, and assigning duties as appropriate. Conducts performance evaluations and motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance; participates in the hiring and disciplinary processes.
- Serves as liaison and point of contact for Core Service Providers.
- Provides consultation and interpretation to DHS personnel and partners regarding service navigation, utilization of Core services/programs, and Medicaid guidelines.
- Ensures that Medicaid is billed for Medicaid eligible individuals prior to utilizing Core Services.
- Evaluates program outcomes and provides various reports and recommendations to management.
- Oversees the service review schedule to ensure timely reauthorizations and quality/appropriateness of Core services.
- Assists Caseworkers with Core Services planning by determining appropriate services for families.
- Provides support and direction in addressing complex client issues or concerns.
- Monitors and ensures payments to Core Service Providers are processed timely and accurately; responsible for the accuracy and integrity of data entered into the required state database and alternative tracking systems.
- Develops training for CYFS staff associated with behavioral health services and accessibility.
- Participates in Family Engagement Meetings, Core Meetings, and Division Meetings.
- Performs other duties as required.

- Bachelor's degree or higher from a higher education institution with course work related to the job responsibilities of child welfare social caseworker as stated in Volume 7. Course work examples can include and are not limited to, the development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures, or therapeutic techniques.
- Three years of professional, internship, or volunteer work experience in a human service-related agency.
- Master's degree or higher in a social work or human behavioral sciences field; and Two years of professional, internship, or volunteer work experience in a human services related agency may substitute for the required experience.
- Master's degree in a human behavioral science field or a Master of Social Work degree.
- One year of supervisory or demonstrated leadership experience.
- Clinical case management or related experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance as stated within El Paso County's Personnel Policies Manual.
- Must obtain and maintain necessary certifications as applicable to position.
- Must possess and maintain Colorado State Child Welfare Supervisor Certification or the ability to successfully complete and pass the initial examination within ninety days of enrollment.
- Professional clinical therapeutic license, such as LCSW or LPC preferred.
- Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, including fingerprinting, motor vehicle record check, and drug screen. College transcripts required prior to the date of hire.
