Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead key accounting functions, oversee month-end close, ensure compliance, and drive process efficiencies. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, this role requires a strong technical accounting background, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact as Quickbase continues to scale.
This role is primarily remote, but we are looking for a candidate who is willing to join us in our Boston office a few days per month for key meetings, collaboration, and team events.
Functional Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Oversee and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely GAAP financial reporting, as well as compliance with lender reporting requirements and debt covenants.
Review and approve journal entries and related key balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany, and accruals, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
Manage the treasury function, including payment cycles, cash flow monitoring, and forecasting
Manage Accounts Payable and T&E processes and systems, driving process improvements to enhance automation, internal controls, and reporting
Oversee international accounting and consolidations, ensuring proper treatment of foreign subsidiaries, intercompany transactions, and compliance with local regulations
Partner with cross-functional teams such as FP&A and Legal to support financial reporting accuracy and business initiatives
Support external audits, preparing necessary documentation and coordinating with auditors to ensure smooth execution
Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging AI and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Optimize financial systems, driving automation initiatives to improve reporting and controls
Support potential M&A transactions, including due diligence, purchase accounting, and integration of financial processes
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS company; Big 4 and industry experience strongly preferred
CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification
Strong knowledge of GAAP and SaaS accounting best practices
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and proficiency in Excel
