Corporate Accounting Supervisor

The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for assuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements through the maintenance of well-organized and structured accounts and records. Preparation and distribution of timely and accurate financial and operational reports that evaluate performance against operating objectives and enable senior management to make tactical and strategic business decisions. Work with operational management to identify and document recommendations for business process and internal control improvements to provide a more effective, efficient and profitable operation. Assist in the development of accounting policies and procedures. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff across multiple Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Accountabilities include:
  • Manage the monthly and quarterly accounting close process including financial statement (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) preparation and review with senior management to ensure integrity of the financial statements.
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
  • Oversee daily operations of the general and transaction accounting functions.
  • Oversee / prepare necessary account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of all elements of the financial statements
  • Develop meaningful monthly management reporting instruments including departmental reporting and other analyses necessary to provide relevant business information to operating managers
  • Coordinate both internal and external audit requirements


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS

An individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications:

The Corporate Accounting Manager should have knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including GAAP. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statement and projections. Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting. Demonstrate the ability to maintain professional communication, both written and verbal and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. Must possess a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance, five to seven years of experience in senior level accounting or finance position, and/or a CPA.
