As the Communications Specialist you will:
Advance the refinery's business objectives by developing external and internal communications strategy, leveraging Chevron's community engagement and stakeholder relationships.
Develop and execute executive communications, employee engagement and crisis communications for the refinery.
Work effectively with the refinery leadership, employee networks and strategic steering teams on a wide range of technical, business and planning areas.
Be responsible for the refinery external communications and advocacy strategy.
Build and enhance the refinery reputation by effectively managing media inquiries.
Develop and maintain a range of communication materials, including holding statements, key messages and frequently asked questions.
Provide communications support for Oak Point Oronite facility in Belle Chasse, LA. and additional administrative support for the Refinery General Manager as needed.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications or related field.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute communications plans.
- Highly skilled at oral and written communication; Skilled at proficiently developing and delivering messaging and preparing content for leadership to deliver that advances company interests internally and externally.
- Highly skilled in all types of communication styles and technologies and can work effectively with digital and social media platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives, goals, and strategies into communications strategies, plans, and tactics.
- Excellent teaming and influence skills, including the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and productively with others.
- Ability to lead working teams to consensus-oriented decisions and action plans through facilitation and build productive relationships with a variety of employees, supervisors and managers.
