The scope of this role will be about 70% Franchise Law and 30% Business Law. We are looking to add a rockstar attorney as soon as reasonable. This role sits at the legal helm of one of the fastest growing franchisors in the country with tremendous upside.

What You'll Be Working On:
  • Franchise Law: Provide legal counsel on franchise disclosure documents (FDD), franchise agreements, and compliance with federal and state franchise regulations.
  • Corporate Transactions: Advise on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and other business transactions related to franchising and business growth.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with franchise laws and regulations, including the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Franchise Rules.
  • Dispute Resolution: Handle franchise disputes, including coordinating mediation, arbitration, and litigation with outside counsel as necessary.
  • Executive Team Advising: Provide ongoing legal advice, guidance, and support to the Executive Team.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and marketing, to ensure comprehensive legal support for franchise operations.
  • Legal Research: Stay updated on changes in franchise laws and regulations, and conduct legal research as needed to support client needs.
  • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for employees on franchise law & business law compliance and best practices.
  • Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including franchise agreements, licensing agreements, and other business contracts.


What You'll Bring With You:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar.
  • 4-7 years of experience in franchise law, corporate transactions, and regulatory
  • compliance.
  • Strong understanding of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Franchise Rules and
  • state franchise laws.
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating franchise agreements and other related
  • contracts.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple brands and projects simultaneously.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Team player with a collaborative approach to legal practice.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property law as it pertains to franchising preferred.
  • In-house counsel experience preferred,


Compensation: $180k-200k + bonuses
