Job Description
What You Will Be Doing

This is a lead position that conducts audits of large corporate taxpayers with an emphasis on the oil and gas industry. Auditors often participate on litigation teams with our appeals staff and Assistant Attorneys General during the litigation of these issues
Mission and Culture

We are a small group of tax professionals responsible for administering Alaska's corporate income tax program, securing nearly $400 million in annual revenue to the State of Alaska. We also provide technical tax support to other groups and perform a variety of other projects that include drafting regulations and researching issues for tax legislation.

The Corporate group offers flexible work schedules, including "alternative work week" schedules that allow employees to have every other Friday off and the potential for part time telework.
Additionally, there are many benefits of working for the State of Alaska, including 37.5-hour work weeks, great health insurance, retirement benefits, higher than average leave accrual (paid time off), regular (annual or biannual) step/pay increases, union negotiated cost of living increases, optional union representation, and a variety of discounts at participating businesses (gym memberships, Microsoft Office, Dell computers, GCI, AT&T, Verizon, etc.).
The Working Environment You Can Expect

We are located on the 5th floor of the Atwood Building (550 West 7th Avenue) in downtown Anchorage. This position has a private cubicle in a secure office and all desks are electric that can be raised to work standing up.
