The Corporate Registered Dietitian Serves as a subject matter expert for nephrology nutrition, acting as a resource to local clinics and DCI Corporate.

Schedule: Fulltime Monday through Friday, weekends off

Compensation: Pay range $85k-$90k depending on renal experience; experience preferred

Responsibilities

What You Can Expect:

  • Collaborates with corporate leadership to develop and maintain programs, education and services that align with DCI's mission, vision and values to address the nutrition needs of our client/patient population.
  • Collaborates with corporate teams in development and revision of policies and procedures, protocols, resources and practice tools related to nutrition.
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of technology applications and resources related to nutrition. Achieves/maintains knowledge of DCI's electronic medical record.
  • Develops and maintains training materials for clinic dietitians, conducting training sessions as needed.
  • Facilitates dietitians' continuing education by developing and maintaining content that complies with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)'s prior approval program for Continuing Profession Education (CPE). This includes participating in program planning of all continuing professional education activities for dietitians.
  • Recognizes and complies with relevant laws, regulations and standards related to nephrology nutrition and dietetics, including state-specific licensure.
  • Guides practice by utilizing the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and CDR's most recent editions of the Code of Ethics, the Scope of Practice for the RDN, and Standards of Practice (SOP) and Standards of Professional Performance (SOPP) for RDNs in Nephrology Nutrition.
  • Identifies and communicates nutrition-related best practices and participates in quality assessment and performance improvement activities related to nutrition.
  • Participates in DCI Corporate committees/workgroups as appropriate.
  • Participates in research activities related to nutrition.


Qualifications

Successful Candidates Bring:

  • Attends outside professional meetings as directed to represent DCI.
  • Keeps abreast of current research, changes in trends, concepts and studies in nutrition practices through reading, attendance at workshops, conferences, etc.
  • Is self-motivated with ability to prioritize tasks and projects.
  • Presents a highly professional manner with an ability to collaborate and display sensitivity, confidentiality, and tactfulness.
  • Demonstrates competence and accountability.
  • Coordinates and organizes multiple activities within a changing work environment.
  • Practices a culture of recognition and appreciation that allows others to feel valued and supported.


Education/Training:

  • Current Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist certification by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Current state licensure as applicable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of nephrology nutrition experience; passion for and experience with home dialysis therapies including peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis preferred.
  • Advanced degree, specialty certifications and training preferred, i.e. Board Certification as a Specialist in Renal Nutrition through CDR.
