POSITION INFO:
The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing all corporate tax functions, including corporate income tax compliance, tax planning, and overseeing the management of indirect taxes such as sales and use tax, property tax filings, and miscellaneous annual reports. The role requires collaboration with external tax advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations, while minimizing the company's overall tax liability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Corporate Income Tax:
o Manage and facilitate the annual tax provision under ASC 740, including related schedules and reports.
o Preparation and/or review of the company's U.S. consolidated federal, international, state, and local tax returns.
o Timely filing of all tax returns as well as other related miscellaneous tax filings.
Indirect Tax Compliance:
o Oversee/Manage the sales and use tax compliance process for multiple jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
o Manage the property tax compliance process for multiple jurisdictions.
o Collaborate with the accounting and finance team to ensure proper documentation and adherence to tax laws.
Tax Planning and Strategy:
o Assist in the development and implementation of tax strategies that minimize the company's overall tax liabilities while complying with applicable laws.
o Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management, and create strategies to capitalize on changes to tax legislation.
Internal Controls and Process Improvements:
o Maintain tax and compliance calendars.
o Maintain tax compliance processes and internal controls to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
o Identify areas for improvement in tax processes and collaborate with other departments to streamline workflows and enhance tax efficiency.
EXPERIENCE:
At least 5-7 years of corporate tax experience, preferably with a mix of public accounting and in-house experience. Big Four experience strongly preferred.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in accounting - CPA required, preferred - Master's degree.
TRAINING AND SKILLS:
Experience in U.S. and State corporate tax compliance, ASC 740 (tax provision) and indirect taxes.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Experience in a large multinational corporation.
Corptax software experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
