Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Four years of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises plus one of the following:
1. Six years of full-time experience in any field; or
2. A bachelor's degree.
OR
A master's degree plus three years of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises; OR
A doctorate plus two years of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
An applicant who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a felony, or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by State and Federal laws is granted.
In accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) (Part 115:17) of Title 28 of the Code of Federal Regulations an applicant who has been found to have engaged in any form of sexual abuse; engaged in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable or refused will be disqualified.

Evaluates current policies and programs for improvements or alterations to meet changes in the program area.
Reviews all serious and unusual occurrence reports.
Analyzes performance of assigned staff.
Reviews written complaints from offenders.
Conducts staff meetings and staffing reviews.
Responds on a 24-hour basis to significant unusual occurrences at the facility.
Prepares and submits reports on crimes committed inside the facility. Works with officials of local, state and federal units of law enforcement regarding criminal activity that occurs within the facility.
Testifies in federal and state court on behalf on the facility.
Assists in the budget preparation and justification of needs of program areas.
Reviews offender records to recommend or deny trusteeship or other privileges.
Supervises offender disciplinary or classification functions.
Supervises offender organizations.
Performs special projects as required.
Serves as weekend duty warden on a rotating schedule.
