Costing Engineer

• Establish and execute supply chain strategy for project(s)/product line(s). Will require identifying new suppliers, evaluating capabilities within existing supplier base, and negotiating intercompany material transfer.
• Familiar with sourcing materials for semiconductor industry (mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, controls, etc). Responsible for the supplier selection process including price analysis and price negotiations.
• Work closely with local mechanical, electrical and controls engineering groups to determine appropriate materials and substitutes. Challenging and optimization of product specification in close cooperation with the engineering team to allow for the most cost effective and high total quality solutions.
• Actively participate in a new product development project.
• Create purchase orders in SAP and send to the appropriate supplier as required.
• Establish inventory levels based on estimated volume and consumption rate of components.
• Shipment and invoicing co-ordination.
• Maintain the accuracy of purchase order delivery dates and pricing for both inter-company and external suppliers.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma with 5+ years of experience in Procurement, supply chain management, vendor development and inventory management. Engineering degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications and Bill Of Materials (BOMs).
• Must have organizational awareness and ability to work in harmony with other functions to achieve business objectives (team player).
• Proficient in SAP MM module is must.
• Self-starter able to work with a minimum of supervision.
• Have good negotiation skills.
• Complete knowledge of costing and commercial terms
