Clearance Requirement: Top Secret (TS) Clearance, SCI Eligible
Position Overview:

We are seeking a Counter-Weapons of Mass Destruction (C-WMD) Staff Officer to provide administrative, policy, operations, and analytic support to the Sensitive Activities & Special Programs (SASP) Office within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security (OUSD(I&S)) and its directorates.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in countering weapons of mass destruction (C-WMD), intelligence analysis, policy development, and operational coordination within the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC). This role requires a deep understanding of nuclear, biological, chemical, and radiological threats, as well as national security policies and strategies aimed at preventing, detecting, and responding to WMD threats.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide policy analysis, operational planning, and strategic oversight for counter-WMD programs and initiatives.
  • Develop, review, and implement DoD policies related to C-WMD, counterproliferation, and threat mitigation.
  • Support interagency coordination and intelligence integration efforts related to WMD threat detection, interdiction, and response.
  • Monitor and assess global WMD threats, proliferation trends, and adversary capabilities impacting U.S. national security.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings, reports, and policy recommendations to senior DoD leadership.
  • Collaborate with interagency partners, combatant commands, and intelligence organizations to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD policies, legal frameworks, and security protocols related to counter-WMD efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Strong knowledge of counter-WMD policies, intelligence collection, and threat mitigation strategies.
  • Experience engaging with senior DoD leadership, intelligence agencies, and interagency partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for briefing senior officials and drafting policy documents.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-security environment with shifting priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in national security, intelligence studies, chemical/biological defense, or a related field.
  • Experience working within OUSD(I&S), Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), or related organizations.
  • Familiarity with arms control treaties, nonproliferation frameworks, and counterproliferation efforts.
  • Background in WMD intelligence analysis, military planning, or crisis response operations.
