Description:
Goodhue County is seeking qualified candidates for the County Surveyor/Recorder position. The County Surveyor/Recorder position oversees essential land surveying and record-keeping functions for Goodhue and Dodge Counties. The County Surveyor manages the Public Land Survey (PLS) System, supervises statutory duties, and prepares legal documents for property transactions while directing GIS initiatives to ensure accurate land parcel data. This position also serves as the County Recorder which includes managing land and vital records, ensuring the proper recording and storage of statutory documents, and establishing compliance with legal requirements. A successful candidate must be adept at setting short- and long-term goals and making critical decisions daily to ensure the integrity of land records and surveying practices.

Compensation & Benefits
County employees receive competitive pay and a generous benefit offering. The County Surveyor/Recorder is compensated at salary grade 117 ($89,315-138,424) and staring annual compensation is $89,315 - $93,766, depending upon qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with major study in Land Surveying or closely related field. This position requires the person to be a Licensed Land Surveyor with a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Minnesota licensed Land Surveyor, a minimum of 2 years in a County Surveyor's office, 2 years' experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and 2 years' supervisory experience.
- Preferable experience would be a minimum of 3 years in a County Surveyor's office, 3 years' experience in Geographic Information Systems, and 2 years' experience working with the County Recorder's office.
