The Role
The Creative Director will be responsible the creative pipeline from creating concepts to product launch. Trend-spotting, pitching fresh ideas to the merchandiser, guiding the designers, securing licensor approvals, and working shoulder-to-shoulder with the production team to achieve price points, timeline, and quality targets. The Creative Department is responsible for introducing new products to meet both fan base and Licensor objectives and expectations.
Success looks like on-brand products that create fan enthusiasm, and meet expectations of studio partners, leading a creative team that feels challenged and supported.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Concept & Design Leadership
- Track studio release calendars, live-service events, and fan chatter to spot product opportunities.
- Lead brainstorms, keep the Product Assortment List up to date, and turn rough ideas into clear creative briefs.
- Guide artists to build compelling mock-ups that respect each studio's IP.
- Licensor Relations
- Run monthly check-ins with each studio's creative contact
- Package concepts for approval, manage feedback, and ensure every revision stays across all systems.
- Production & Compliance
- Work with the production team to help lock in timelines, hit the minimum order quantities, and assist in sample reviews to ensure quality is being met.
- Be familiar with the product compliance requirements and assist the team in products intended to be sold globally.
- Verify material quality, color accuracy, legal lines, and packaging requirements.
- Commercial Performance
- Be nimble based on product performance data. Review weekly sales and inventory report and share with the teams for consideration.
- Identify rising trends or under-performing categories and consider per IP.
- Team & Process Management
- Run creative stand-ups and creative-focused meetings with licensors.
- Maintain an organized Dropbox of licensor approved assets, fonts, and legal copy, and other digital goods.
Qualifications
- Must have proven track record regarding licensed consumer products for entertainment, pop-culture, or gaming brands.
- Sustained record launching multi-SKU lines that hit revenue goals and delight licensors.
- Fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud, familiar with Pantone+, and basic 3D mock-up tools; familiarity with Trello, Monday, and Dropbox strongly encouraged.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, MOQs, and packaging compliance for apparel and hard goods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the poise to present to studio executives and the empathy to coach designers.
- Professional business skills, such as negotiation, project management, and leadership
- Ability to juggle shifting priorities, tight timelines, and multiple stakeholders without dropping the ball.
- Being a gamer is strongly encouraged!
Desired Experience
- Direct experience with AAA game studios or genre-defining pop-culture franchises.
- Knowledge of e-commerce merchandising, paid media, and lifecycle email campaigns.
- A deep personal passion for gaming, the culture, collectibles, or other consumer products.
