Department Details
Black Hills Surgical Hospital is seeking a CRNA to join our surgical practice in Rapid City, SD.
Provide quality care in the delivery of anesthetics and anesthesia services to surgical guests and for all sedation and pain orders guests undergoing imaging or pain clinic services
Schedule: 8 hour shift schedule, with gap shift coverage available beyond 8 hours; paid at premium rate
Call: Paid call from home, 1 in 12 weekdays and 1 in 12 weekends with additional pay if called in
Provide general, spinal, sedation, regional anesthesia and pain management for a variety of surgical and diagnostic procedures, does not include hearts, neuro, or obstetrics
Graduate of an NLN accredited school of registered nursing and a graduate of an accredited school of nurse anesthesia
Certification as a CRNA with licensure to practice in the State of South Dakota required.
A minimum of two years of CRNA experience preferred

Responsible for the administration of anesthesia.

Job Description

Administers anesthesia or sedation to patients undergoing a variety of surgical and non-surgical procedures. Develops and conducts pre-anesthetic plan for the patient as well as write orders before, after, and during procedures appropriately. Works with and collaborates with providers caring for the patient. Communicates with patients, family members and others on the health care team. Evaluates and orders diagnostic tests as needed. Monitors patients, including hemodynamic monitoring, using current techniques to adjust appropriately with the anesthesia plan. Ability to work with growth and development needs of all client populations.

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree required from an approved and accredited educational program in specific area of advanced practice. Masters degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) preferred.

Requires current unencumbered licensure to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) from the State Board of Nursing in the state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position. CRNA certification required and maintained through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
