Overview
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA) Monday-Friday assists with the implementation and evaluation of a patient's anesthetic plan and recovery from anesthesia. Working under close supervision, this position works Monday through Friday supporting the care team and assisting with collecting patients' medical and surgical history in order to ensure appropriate care is provided.
Responsibilities
Assists with collecting, reviewing, and evaluating all data pertinent to the patient's medical and surgical history, with consideration of the planned procedure.
Maintains a safe environment and responds appropriately to emergencies and safety hazards.
Prepares and administers medications and fluids in accordance with accepted standards of safe practice.
Supports with maintaining constant vigilance with ongoing assessment of airway, depth of anesthesia, fluids status, and physiologic response to anesthesia to ensure patient safety.
Helps complete all required documentation: the Surgical Safety Checklist, the pre-operative assessment, the intra-operative anesthetic record, and the transfer-of-care note.
Logs incident reporting in the computerized Safety Portal during working days.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:Required: Graduate from School of Nursing and School of Nurse Anesthesia
EXPERIENCE:
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
Recognition as an Advanced Practice RN by the NC Board of Nursing
Certification/ Recertification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NCBRNA)
