The Customer and Business Insights Analyst combines expertise in statistical modeling, data analysis, and machine learning to generate actionable insights that drive business outcomes. This position focuses on Customer Experience, Digital Transformation, and Operational Excellence, translating complex concepts into clear recommendations. The analyst bridges the gap between business and technical teams, identifying improvement opportunities, resolving data quality issues, and developing automated reporting dashboards.

Salary: Analyst Level C (Current CUPE 2024 rates)
$99,626.44 - $105,855.57 - $112,084.70 - $118,313.83 - $124,542.96
Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Major Responsibilities:
- Architect and deliver analytical solutions to process complex information into easy-to-understand data models and analyzable formats
- Architect and deliver optimal data pipeline solutions that unlock organization data
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and Azure 'big data' technologies
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Lead stakeholder consultation and requirements gathering to identify processes that would benefit from optimization through Power BI and Azure platform
- Transform business requirements into functional requirements in the form of data models and KPIs to transform raw data into meaningful insights
- Provide analysis to facilitate efficient and effective business decision-making, helping business partners meet their objectives
- Use Measures and DAX programming to dynamically calculate complex KPIs in Power BI dashboards and ensure data accuracy and quality
- Conduct data literacy, solution walkthrough and knowledge share workshops with business users to promote use of effective data modelling
- Provide analysis of the performance data, identify trends, and communicate impacts to departmental results
- Deliver rapid prototypes and proof-of-concept reporting capabilities using Enterprise standard tools
Education:
- University degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics or Finance with 4 years relevant business experience; or technical diploma with a minimum of 6 years' related experience
- Related certification in Microsoft Power BI, Azure Data Factory/Synapse Analytics, or programming (such as Python or SQL) is considered an asset
Qualifications & Experience:
- 4+ years of progressive advanced experience in a data reporting and analytics role
- 1 +year of MS Fabric, Databricks (or similar end to end analytics tool) experience including advanced programming features such as DAX and Power queries is required
- 1+ years of hands-on experience in building and deploying machine learning or AI models using tools such as Python, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, with exposure to the full ML lifecycle
- 4+ years of experience in building highly interactive and dynamic Power BI dashboards or equivalent visualization tools
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience with complex data modelling and transformation (SQL or Python)
- 1+ years of experience working with Azure data technologies
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise level data security and its implementation in a Power BI based reporting landscape
- Advanced knowledge of statistics, measurement, and quantitative analysis principles
- Experience analyzing data in transaction/source systems
- Experience with data architecture; data modeling; database design; database concepts; database structures; star schemas
- Experience with ETL tools
- Experience in directly analyzing data within various transactional and source systems, including but not limited to SAP (CRM, ISU, BW), Genesys, and survey platforms
