The Defense Enterprise and Cyber Operations Division within Leidos' Digital Modernization Sector is seeking a Cyber Network Defense Engineer with extensive experience with Palo Alto network to support the XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Liberty, NC. This person should be a seasoned, self-motivated, professional with at least 10 years of hands-on networks and systems engineering, testing experience in tactical and enterprise networks, virtualized and cloud environments. The candidate shall be a skilled engineer knowledgeable and experienced in developing and implementing Firewall/Networking Security Solutions.

This person should be a seasoned, self-motivated, professional with at least 10 years of hands-on networks and systems engineering, testing experience in tactical and enterprise networks, virtualized and cloud environments. The candidate shall be a skilled engineer knowledgeable and experienced in developing and implementing Firewall/Networking Security Solutions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Active participant in meetings with XVIII Airborne Corps and mission partner working groups.
- Train and mentor other team members.
- Support mission-critical Continuity of Operations (COOP).
- Evaluate current technologies and processes associated with DISA DCO to identify gaps.
- Provide expert advice and direction regarding the management and operation of all Palo Alto devices in the XVIII Airborne Corps and US Army enterprise architecture.
- Interact with the customer point of contact to set objectives/goals based on Palo Alto Networks technologies and available technology roadmap for architecture and design discussions.
- Provide requirements and strategies for future cybersecurity operations.
- Conduct and deliver weekly status updates to customer.
- Follow up on all taskers and due outs.
Requirements:
- Must have Active Secret Clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI
- 6+ years of hands-on Cisco / Palo Alto Firewall experience in both engineering and Operations and maintenance roles.
- Possess a Forescout Certified Associate (FCA) certification
- Strong knowledge of Palo Alto networks, concepts and best practices:
- Palo Alto Route configurations, Configurations and troubleshooting
- Palo Alto IPSec Site to Site VPN Config and Troubleshooting
- Palo Alto IPS Configuration
- Panorama Installation and configuration, Policy creation and push to group of Firewalls and Verify Push
- Palo Alto VM
- Palo Alto Virtual Router / Systems
- Palo Alto Firewall HA
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with 12+ years of applicable combined education and experience; additional related years of experience is accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Hold DoD-8570 IAM Level 1 baseline certification (Sec+ CE or equivalent) to start and must obtain certification within 180 days of start date.
- Proficient understanding of the Cybersecurity Framework to identify, protect, detect, respond and recover within the Cyber Security Service Provider construct.
- Motivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in a high op-tempo environment.
- Candidate must possess an active DOD Secret
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experienced with Enterprise and tactical networks,
- Experience with XVIII Airborne Corps Mission and its mission Partners.
- Experience with DISA and DoD Networks.
- Expertise in Vendor Equipment
- Expertise in Networking / Firewall based Cybersecurity technologies (5+ years)
- Skilled in building extended cyber security analytics.
- Advanced Certifications such as SANS GIAC/GCIA/GCIH, CISSP or CASP.
- Experience in intelligence driven defense and/or cyber Kill Chain methodology.
- Foster and encourage a collaborative environment to champion a cybersecurity culture
