Job Description:
Position provides offensive and defensive cyber operations analysis and expertise, individually and within an onsite team environment supporting Commander, Operational Test and Evaluation Force (COMOPTEVFOR).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports DOT&E CAP lifecycle (Assessment design, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting)
- Develops operationally relevant assessment designs by analyzing architecture, cyberspace threat environment, and current tactics, techniques, and procedures used in operations of Combatant Command and U.S. Navy C4ISR systems
- Uses COMOPTEVFOR Mission-Based Test Design (MBTD) procedures and processes to create comprehensive assessment plans, with appropriate cybersecurity metrics and methods
- Conducts assessments according to established exercise plans, using direct observations and onsite data collection, ensuring data is controlled, protected, and handled appropriately based on its classification and exercise sensitivity
- Validates, normalizes, reduces, and prioritizes collected data to facilitate analysis
- Conducts efficient data analysis to identify deficiencies, causes, and vulnerabilities
- Resolves critical operational issues, and determines operational effectiveness, suitability, and mission relation/relevance, and impact
- Documents and communicates identified deficiencies, causes, vulnerabilities, and critical operational issues, along with other findings in a comprehensive and understandable manner
- Maintains situational awareness with current cybersecurity techniques and vulnerabilities, interfaces with other DoD cybersecurity organizations, maintains currency of DoD and Navy cybersecurity publications, guidance, and tools.
- US citizen with current Secret clearance, clearable to TS/SCI
- Seven years experience in relevant position
- Able to meet within six months of hire the DoD IA Workforce requirements for an Information Assurance Systems Architecture Engineer (IASAE) Level II position as detailed in DoD 8570.01-M
- Demonstrated expertise in identifying, analyzing, documenting , and communicating system-specific vulnerabilities and penetration testing techniques
- Demonstrated ability to communicate well verbally and in written format
- Bachelor's Degree in a computer/information security-related discipline
- Certifications: CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) in Windows Server 2008 or newer
- Navy shipboard systems operations experience
- Experience operating aboard US Navy vessels while at sea
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Requires: Ability to operate while underway aboard Navy vessels, Sitting, Standing, Climbing, Walking, Lifting, Grasping, Reaching, Near Acuity, Speaking, Listening, Sight, Observing, Use of fingers and hands
