1. Occupational Summary (Position Objective & Authorities)
Objective:
The Cyber Security Product Engineer is responsible for ensuring the secure design, development, and integration of advanced seat systems used in commercial aircraft. This role focuses on addressing cybersecurity challenges specific to seating products that include in-seat entertainment, passenger comfort systems, and connectivity features. The incumbent collaborates with other Business Units and will work closely with engineering, product, and compliance teams to ensure that all systems meet the highest standards of security. Works under general supervision.
1. Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
Collaborate with product development teams to integrate robust cybersecurity measures into aircraft seating systems, including in-seat entertainment, and passenger control systems.
Perform cybersecurity risk assessments and analysis, specific to seating systems, proposing and implementing mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with relevant aviation and cybersecurity regulations and other industry standards governing within aircraft.
Develop and execute security test plans, Define the objectives for security testing,
Partner with design, engineering, and product teams to ensure that security is considered at all stages of the product lifecycle and
Resolve identified security issues and provide guidance on security-related concerns to design and development teams
Prepare detailed documentation, including security analysis reports, test results, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.
Notify the Product Security Architect of critical security events, including vulnerabilities discovered during development.
Performs other duties as assigned.

3. Qualification Requirements
A. Education & Qualification-
Bachelors Degree with a relevant major, such as cybersecurity, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or product design engineering.
B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge -
5 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, ideally within the automotive, aerospace, or related industries.
C. Professional Skills-
Knowledge and understanding of penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and other security validation activities.
Knowledge and understanding of develop secure applications (including embedded code, design languages, and scripting).
Prefer knowledge of the technical components and systems found in aircraft seating, including in-seat entertainment, power systems, connectivity, and safety features.
Prefer knowledge and understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within the aviation industry, as well as Security risk analysis methodologies.
D. Behavioral Skills-
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with engineers, product managers, and regulatory teams.
Ability to read, review and generate written communication.
Continuous learning mindset and a passion for staying updated on emerging trends.
Must be detail oriented and have sound engineering judgment.
Must be self-motivated and a self-starter.
