Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Cyber Tools Specialist - Red Hat to join our team and support the configuration, patching, and security hardening of Linux systems. The selected candidate will work with Red Hat Satellite and Capsules, scripting and deploying patches, and implementing security measures based on DISA STIGs and SRGs. This role involves troubleshooting COTS software, analyzing system vulnerabilities, and mitigating risks to achieve system authorization. Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure and patch Linux systems using Red Hat Satellite and Capsules to ensure system integrity and security.
  • Script, install, and test patches on Linux hosts to maintain system performance and security compliance.
  • Write and deploy Ansible playbooks to automate tasks and configuration management for Linux environments.
  • Implement Security Hardening on Linux Operating Systems in alignment with DISA STIGs and SRGs.
  • Troubleshoot COTS software applications, analyze system vulnerabilities, and assess mission impacts to ensure security.
  • Mitigate risks through thorough security practices and achieve system authorization.
  • Contribute to tasks in the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) using Agile methodologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience configuring and patching Linux systems with Red Hat Satellite and Capsules.
  • Hands-on experience with patching Linux hosts and testing updates for security and compatibility.
  • Proficiency in writing and deploying Ansible playbooks to automate system configurations and patch management.
  • Knowledge of Security Hardening on Linux systems, based on DISA STIGs and SRGs.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting COTS software applications and managing system vulnerabilities.
  • 3+ years of experience with an advanced degree or 5+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree in Linux systems administration or cybersecurity.
  • IAT Level II certification required.
  • Secret Clearance required.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with executing Agile tasks throughout the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience scripting Windows Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for cross-platform management.
  • Experience with industry-standard Cybersecurity tools such as Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), NESSUS, and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).
  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 Security Controls and experience implementing them as part of the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
