About your next Challenge as a Cyber Security Analyst:

The L-3 MAPPS Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS), deployed aboard various military and cruise ships, integrates and controls nearly all onboard equipment. The IPMS consists primarily of software and hardware, combining L-3 technologies with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components. It operates within its own on-premise IT environment, provided by L3Harris, utilizing standard IT technologies and infrastructure such as servers with virtualization, network devices, storage, databases, domain controllers, WinApply, and Active Directory. Additionally, the system incorporates typical cybersecurity technologies, including network security, endpoint security, identity and access management, penetration testing, intrusion prevention and detection systems, ....

As a member of the cybersecurity team, you will help enhance the security posture of the solution throughout all phases of development, from solution definition to deployment. You will tightly collaborate with other software teams, DevOps, and I&T (Integration and Test). Since we are delivering a complete solution, broad knowledge of cybersecurity-encompassing software, hardware, and IT infrastructure-will be a valuable asset. Essential Functions:
  • Evaluate and implement various cybersecurity and IT technologies as part of the IPMS solution, as outlined above.
  • Provide support to other teams by educating, simplifying complex concepts, and prioritizing tasks to enhance the product's security.
  • Identify security vulnerabilities in the product, prioritize them, and take action to address them.
  • Develop automation, scripts, and potentially write code to support cybersecurity efforts.
  • Create requirements for other software to meet cybersecurity standards and needs.
  • Deploy cybersecurity technologies to strengthen the solution's overall security.


Qualifications:
  • At least 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, either as an IT SysAdmin or in product development (on-premise solutions or embedded systems).
  • Strong expertise in at least two of the following three domains:
    • Network Security: Familiarity with associated equipment, configuration management, intrusion detection technologies, and encryption techniques.
    • Linux and Windows System Administration: Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with the technologies and infrastructure described in the job description.
    • Endpoint Security Technologies: Ability to recommend best practices and technologies, support implementation, and analyze, prioritize, and recommend actions (e.g., SIEM).
  • Broad knowledge across various cybersecurity fields, including a good understanding of some of these fields, such as:
    • Identity and Access Management.
    • Secure software development practices.
    • Penetration testing and threat modeling.
    • Static Analysis (SAST), Dynamic Analysis (DAST).
    • Software Composition Analysis.
    • Cryptography.
    • Vulnerability management.
    • Software configuration management.
    • Virtualization and containerization.
    • Virtual networking.
  • Required experience in automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Proven ability to assess the security posture of a product, modify architectural components strategically, and lead targeted changes to reduce the product's attack surface.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain cybersecurity concepts to development teams and assist them in implementing various security measures.
  • Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills based on both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Fluent in English; French is a plus.


Preferred Additional Skills:
  • DevOps and SecDevOps.
  • Cyber security certifications a plus.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools.
  • Agile and scrums.


Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):
  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO SECRET security clearance.
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
