SAIC is seeking a Cybersecurity Test Engineer with experience in cybersecurity operations, assessment, and analysis to join the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Team in Colorado Springs, CO.
PNT SE&I provides engineering, integration, technical analysis, and subject matter expertise (SME) support to the US Space Force. As a member of our PNT SE&I Team, you'll work in a high-paced environment with Government personnel and systems engineers to provide an enterprise cybersecurity perspective for identification and review of risks and risk mitigation plans and work to institutionalize systems security engineering best practices across the PNT/GPS Enterprise. Major duties of this position include:
Duties
Assist in planning and execution of cybersecurity assessments utilizing DISA Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Nessus Vulnerability Scanner, DISA SCAP, and other tools
Participate in penetration testing events on development and sustainment systems, identifying system vulnerabilities, and conducting mitigation and risk analysis
Assist in the development and implementation of processes and procedures for conducting cybersecurity vulnerability and penetration assessments, to include automation and tool research, development, and training
Support various other cross-mission cybersecurity activities for space, ground, operations, logistics, and sustainment elements of the customer base by identifying and advising in security-related engineering risks, issues, and interdependencies between system elements, contracts, and stakeholders
Assist in the development, coordination and approval of PNT/GPS Clinger Cohen Act (CCA) compliance packages and cybersecurity strategies
Collaborate on a daily basis with team subcontractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Space Force
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or cybersecurity with 2+ years of demonstrated experience or Master's degree in engineering or cybersecurity
Possesses and maintains a DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)
Possesses or ability to obtain within 6 months a penetration testing certification (CompTIA CEH or equivalent)
Ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI DoD clearance
Understanding of risk analysis and mitigation fundamentals, cybersecurity tool suites, and cybersecurity engineering implementation and processes
Experience in writing and delivering technical documents and briefings to peers, management, and the customer at all levels
Experience writing and delivering technical documents and briefings
Experienced at self-starting, seeking solutions, and works well in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
Active TS/SCI Clearance
Familiarity with systems engineer and/or cybersecurity engineering principles identified in ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288.01, Standard for Application of Systems Engineering on Defense Programs, NIST Special Publication 800-160, Systems Security Engineering or DoDI 8510.01, Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology
Demonstrated experience working with Air Force/DoD customers in an acquisition environment with space and/or ground systems
Fundamental Linux (RedHat / Kali) and Windows (10, Server 2012+) operations skillset
Knowledge of cybersecurity tools including Nessus Vulnerability Scanner operation and configuration, DISA SCC/SCAP, Elastic (ELK) Stack, Fortify, and others as needed
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
