POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Analytics Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, retrieval, and strategic utilization of Epic-based business and clinical analytics tools. This individual will not only perform hands-on data analysis but also manage a team of analysts within the Clinical Informatics Department. The Data Analytics Manager will ensure that analytics initiatives align with organizational objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Data Analysis & Retrieval
  • Retrieve, analyze, and present Epic data using Cogito, Clarity, and Caboodle to provide insights for clinical, operational, and financial decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for leadership and clinical teams.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards, including HIPAA.
  • Support ad hoc and standard reporting requests, collaborating with revenue cycle, clinical operations, and executive teams.
  • Partner with IT, if needed, to enhance data extraction and processing efficiency, optimizing reporting solutions within the Epic ecosystem.
  • Maintain knowledge and continuously enhance expertise of Epic and other relevant healthcare analytics tools.

Leadership & Management
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data analysts within the Clinical Informatics Department.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of data-related projects.
  • Serve as an advocate for data-driven decision-making, promoting best practices in analytics and informatics.
  • Communicate data insights to stakeholders, including senior leadership, clinicians, and operational staff.
  • Report division status updates, key findings, and project progress directly to the CMIO or his designee.

Stakeholder Engagement & Strategy
  • Collaborate with the CMIO, Value-Based Care leadership, and other leaders to define data strategy and reporting priorities.
  • Work closely with clinicians, administrators, and IT teams to translate business needs into actionable data solutions.
  • Participate in governance meetings to represent data analytics initiatives and advocate for system enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities for improving data processes and analytics capabilities within the organization.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Clinical Informatics, Data Science, or related field required.
  • Years of Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare data analytics or revenue cycle operations.
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
  • License and/or Certification:
    • Must be certified or actively obtaining Epic data certifications in Cogito, Clarity, and/or Caboodle.
  • Skills:
    • Strong expertise in Epic data structures and SQL query writing.
    • Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, Epic SlicerDicer, or similar).
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
    • Strong ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to troubleshoot data discrepancies and identify actionable insights from large datasets.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:
    • Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Clinical Informatics, Data Science, or related field required.


WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Primarily working inside in a well-lit, well-ventilated area.
  • The role requires sitting for extended periods and working with computer systems.
