Overview

OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

Responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our organization's EDW. Additionally you will be responsible for the governance of data architecture. Works closely with our development and IT teams to ensure that our EDW is efficient, reliable, and scalable to meet the needs of our growing business.

Starting Pay Range: $39/hr. - $50/hr.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Designs, implements, and maintains database schemas that support our applications and business
    processes.
  • Monitors and optimize database performance to ensure optimal query execution and system efficiency.
  • Implements and maintains security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access or
    breaches.
  • Develops and implements backup and recovery plans to ensure the integrity and availability of our data.
  • Plans and execute database upgrades and patching to ensure that our database systems are up to date and
    secure.
  • Diagnoses and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and ensure the
    reliability of our systems.
  • Works collaboratively with IT teams and EDW to properly manage the EDW fabric environment.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures. Preferred
    experience in DevOps or similar.
  • Monitors database usage and trends to anticipate future capacity needs and plan accordingly.
  • Works closely with development and IT teams to support their database-related needs and requirements.
  • Ensures that our databases comply with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI
    DSS.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
  • Certification in database administration desired(e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified:
    Azure Database Administrator Associate).

EXPERIENCE:
  • Proven experience with Microsoft ecosystem. 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, or in a
    similar role.
  • Proficiency in managing relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as T-SQL, MySQL,
    PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
  • Strong SQL skills and the ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Knowledge of database security best practices and experience implementing security measures such as
    encryption, access controls, and auditing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and employ basic reasoning skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive documentation
    and/or situations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and
    Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements.
  • The position requires occasional standing, bending, reaching, stooping, squatting, kneeling, grasping, lifting
    and twisting.
