Position Summary:

We're seeking an experienced Data Architect to design and optimize our organization's data management systems and strategies. The ideal candidate will bridge business and technical requirements to create scalable data solutions that drive business value.

This position will be responsible for understanding current business challenges and future business strategies, understanding what data is and will be required by the different stakeholders, getting the data from the different systems, modeling the data, and presenting the data to the relevant stakeholders while maintaining data governance and integrity.

This position offers a blend of technical leadership and strategic thinking, with opportunities to significantly impact our organization's business capabilities.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement comprehensive data architecture frameworks, ensuring scalability, security, and performance
  • Develop data models, database designs, and data integration patterns across multiple systems
  • Create and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Lead the evaluation and selection of data management tools and technologies
  • Design data migration strategies and oversee their execution
  • Establish best practices for data storage, access, and lifecycle management
  • Monitor and optimize system performance and data quality
  • Document and manage the different business requirements and processes
  • Manage and communicate the priorities of the requests

Required Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Leadership skills with ability to mentor and work with technical teams
  • Strategic thinking and planning capabilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric is an asset

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional certifications in data management or cloud platforms
  • Experience with real-time data processing and streaming architectures
  • Knowledge of machine learning and AI data requirements
  • Experience with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA)

Tools and Systems:
  • Some of the tools that will be used include;
    • Azure SQL Database
    • Azure Databricks
    • OneLake Data Factory
    • Visio
    • Purview
    • PowerBI
  • The data sources will be from ERP systems (Infor SX.e, SAP B1 and potentially others)
  • Salesforce, HR-related systems, AD, and others. Some of the sources will require the use of API, and for some, there will be direct access to the database.
