The Data Architect will be responsible for defining and implementing data architectures and solutions, leading the development and implementation of data products in accordance with the overall strategy of Arbitration Forums, Inc. This role will ensure the efficient organization, storage, access, and governance of data to support business intelligence, advanced analytics, product analytics, and data products. The Data Architect will be accountable for defining a hybrid data architecture that supports current advanced analytics requirements and future AI-enabled innovations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data Architecture Design and Implementation:
- Design and implement scalable, efficient, and secure reference data architecture to support the organization's needs in the areas of advanced analytics and AI.
- Support the definition of the data architecture on-prem and cloud ecosystem/s, including tool selection and integration, and blueprinting of the interoperability requirements of the parts to support end to end data solutions.
- Develop conceptual and logical data models to support reporting, advanced analytics, and AI solutions.
- Create and maintain current- and target-state data architectures.
- Ensure technology solutions are in alignment with data architecture principles and target state.
- Oversee end-to-end data life cycle management activities in a hybrid environment (on-prem, cloud).
- Define data engineering practices that are aligned to the organization needs, maintaining data integrity, quality, and consistency across the organization.
- Data Integration and Management:
- Lead data integration efforts from various sources, ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
- Oversee ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and data warehousing solutions.
- Develop and maintain data flow diagrams and documentation.
- Data Governance and Security:
- Work with the data governance lead to establish and enforce data governance standards, guidelines, processes, and best practices to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Define metadata and support data cataloging as part of the enterprise governance program.
- Implement data security protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Monitor and optimize data storage and retrieval systems for performance and cost efficiency.
- Data Products:
- Enable the identification of potential data products and use cases for innovation to deliver on the organization's strategy.
- Support feature identification for data science/machine learning projects, as well as relevance in potential outcomes.
- Own the data product life cycle across the organization, working with IT in the automated deployment of data solutions from staging/development to production.
- Oversee the data continuum across AF's application and data products, ensuring seamless integrations among AF-developed products and interoperability with third party products.
- Collaboration and Strategy:
- Work closely with IT, products, data engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data team members.
- Stay updated on emerging data technologies and best practices, making recommendations for continuous improvement
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support data observability efforts to ensure the data continuum and enforce governance standards.
- Other duties as assigned by manager or project needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience, Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in data architecture, data management, data governance, data science, or a related role.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in data modeling, database design, and data warehousing (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, MS Azure cloud, etc).
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools and data integration technologies (e.g., Apache, DBT, Informatica, DBT, Talend).
- Working knowledge of cloud services (i.e. MS Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Experience with AI tools, such as MS Azure ML, Dataiku.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, data security, and compliance practices.
- Experience with data catalogs and lineage plotting tools.
- Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Webfocus, Power BI).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff.
- Auto Insurance claims industry experience preferred
