Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), provider of cutting-edge cloud-based integration, automated testing and data analysis for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking a Data Center / Lab Technician to be based in our Fall River, MA Data Center and Lab. Leveraging advanced software automation, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and AI-driven capabilities, IDT accelerates capability development, enhances operational readiness, and reduces lifecycle costs for the Department of Defense. Overview:
The Data Center / Lab Technician will support multi-disciplined teams focused on DoD initiatives in support of tactical capability development primarily for Navy surface and submarine platforms. Project areas include DevSecOps, real-time automated test and analysis, virtual compute environments, machine learning based data analytics, cybersecurity, backfit and forward fit tactical solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day operations in the Fall River Data Center and Lab. Primary responsibilities will include unpacking and rack mounting servers, installing storage devices, cable management, verifying system operation, and ownership of equipment and workspaces.

Pay Range*: $72,000 - $114,450 or $85,500 - $139,650
This amount may not be reflective of actual compensation that may be earned as pay is dependent on a candidate's experience, skills, and education. The posted range does not include bonuses, commissions, tips, or other benefits. IDT is often looking to place multiple candidates at various levels. Therefore, more than one pay range has been included, commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities Include:
- Set up server and network hardware.
- Unpack and package equipment, ensuring safe handling and adherence to proper ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) practices.
- Inspect, rack mount, and install servers, network devices, and storage devices.
- Assemble, install, and manage computer/server peripherals as needed.
- Cable Hardware (servers & switches).
- Expertly run cable network cables, power cables and peripherals.
- Manage CAT6 cabling to include creation, termination, and validation.
- Ensure proper labeling and organization of cabling and management.
- Verify System Operation.
- Install operating systems on servers following established protocols.
- Configure server BIOS settings for optimal performance.
- Conduct system tests following documented procedures and utilizing automation tools to ensure proper functioning of hardware and software.
- Investigate hardware failures and assist with return to manufacturer as needed.
- Organize and Manage Lab Equipment.
- Maintain an inventory of lab equipment, servers, cabling, peripherals, and accessories.
- Ensure all equipment is well organized, labeled, accounted for, and tracked.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs when necessary.
- Ensure Smooth and Efficient Day-To-Day Operations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Collaborate with team members to address technical challenges.
- Document and report any malfunctions or problems encountered.
- Coordinate hardware deliveries and shipments with logistics team.
- Assist in the auditing and inventorying of government property with logistics team.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Candidates should possess a minimum of a high school diploma.
- 2+ years of related work experience in a technician / specialist role.
- Technical certifications or relevant degree preferred.
Required Skills:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Exceptional reading and writing skills to document procedures and communicate effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain an inventory system.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks and react quickly to issues.
- Computer Hardware experience (troubleshooting, assembling).
- Best practices and safe handling of computer/server equipment.
- Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as Jira/ServiceNow.
- Some Linux operating system experience (OS installation, CLI).
- Ability to maintain documentation of process and identify improvements.
- Familiarity with server BIOS configuration.
- Server rack mounting, hardware setup, cable management and troubleshooting.
