Infrastructure & Security Lead - Data Centre Operations Lead
Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure and Security, the Datacentre Operations Lead, provides the strategic development and leadership for all aspects of the corporate data centre facilities, including processes and technologies, and ensuring high availability. Technical Services in support of the operation of the I/S datacentre(s) including enterprise technologies and applications, databases, servers, storage systems, operating systems, backup/disaster systems, printing systems and cloud datacentre platforms.
Provides systems management services to manage the system for optimal performance and capacity, system tuning, development and implementation of solutions, performance analysis in support of servers, storage or networks, availability management, asset management and security management.
GENERAL DUTIES
Manage of IT resource allocations aligned with business priorities.
Manages and develop the monitoring and response metrics for a high availability, 24/7.
Responsible for all key functional policies and procedures, for network architecture, data centers, standards, monitoring, and service provision.
Manages the configuration, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of servers, including e-mail, print and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software
Manages and leads the configuration, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of databases and enterprise software to meet the functional objectives of the business.
Manages and reviews issues and problem logs relating to server and datacentre operations, prioritizes outstanding issues and develops resolution plan.
Maintains strong communications with IS and business leaders on availability and planned shutdowns.
Collaborates with security specialist and technical architect on the development and implementation of security policies and procedures
Develops and manages capacity and resource plans, assessing network
Stay current with industry best practices for server and datacentre infrastructures, security requirements.
Maintains an inventory of assets; identifies opportunities for corporate and departmental efficiencies and improvement
Manages vendor service level agreements (SLA) for hardware, software and connectivity in accordance with the procurement policies
Requirements
1. University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Technology or related discipline
2. 3+ years of Data Centre Leadership responsibilities
3. Class G Driver's License required.
4. Extensive experience in client/server and OS, including Windows (Windows 10, Server 2012/2016), and working knowledge of Linux
5. Extensive experience with installing, configuring, maintaining and supporting storage area networks.
6. Extensive experience with installing, configuring, maintaining and supporting datacentre hardware (servers, blades, tape and virtual libraries, UPS).
7. Extensive experience with installing, configuring, maintaining and supporting application and hardware virtualization.
8. Demonstrated skills in mobile and wireless technologies and architectures.
9. Good knowledge of the ITIL standard.
10. Knowledge and understanding of project management principles.
11. Strong working knowledge of networking systems (DNS, WINS, Active Directory), protocols, and standards such as Ethernet, LAN, WAN, VoIP, DSL, TCP/IP, T1, 802.11x and Fibre Optics.
12. Experience configuring and maintaining anti-virus software, firewalls, intrusion detection systems and other network security measures.
13. Experience with installing, configuring, maintaining and supporting email technologies, and protocols, including Exchange Server, Mobile Device Management, Office 365 (hybrid Cloud environments).
