PFL's Software Organization is actively seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with strong data science experience to join our world-class Software team. In this position, you will own and advance our data analytics story from end to end. You will design, build, and optimize data pipelines, ETL workflows, and cloud-based analytics solutions while also applying statistical and machine learning models to drive actionable insights for customers and internal stakeholders.
This role requires deep expertise in SQL, ETL, Visualization (PowerBI), and cloud technologies (preferably Azure Synapse Analytics). You should have experience working with structured and unstructured data, large data sets, ensuring data integrity, performance optimization, and scalable analytics architectures.

In this role, you will:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines to support analytics, BI reporting, and decision-making across the organization.
- Build and manage ETL workflows to ingest, transform, and store data from multiple sources (SQL Server, Mongo, Data Lakes, APIs, etc.).
- Design scalable data models (Star Schema, Medallion Architecture) to support business intelligence initiatives.
- Leverage SQL, Python, and cloud-based tools (Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Power BI, etc.) to improve data processing efficiency.
- Enhance and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI, ensuring stakeholders have access to timely and actionable insights.
- Drive data governance best practices by implementing data validation, standardization, and quality controls.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales) to understand business needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Advocate for data-driven decision-making by educating teams on best practices in analytics and reporting.
- Develop AI/ML pipelines in production environments, integrating models into data-driven workflows.
On day one, we expect you to have:
- Advanced SQL skills with hands-on experience in query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Strong experience with cloud-based data platforms (preferably Azure Synapse, Data Factory, or Power BI Embedded).
- Proven ability to design and implement scalable ETL pipelines and manage large datasets efficiently.
- Experience with data modeling techniques (e.g., Star Schema, Medallion Architecture) and structured data storage.
- Familiarity with Power BI, including DAX and data visualization best practices.
- Proficiency in Python or R for data transformation, analytics, and scripting.
- Experience in managing data quality, governance, and validation frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work in ambiguous environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A track record of working in cross-functional teams, delivering business impact through data-driven insights.
