The Enterprise Data Sub-Issues Management Team is responsible for supporting Data Governance across the enterprise, enabling business growth while ensuring compliance with risk and regulatory expectations. The Data Governance Consultant role partners with various business and technology stakeholders to influence and drive adoption of related Enterprise Data Management and Governance strategies, policies, standards and control frameworks. The role monitors and enforces adherence to Enterprise Data and Analytics owned policies though the identification, documentation, and monitoring of remediation actions for data issues and data sub-issues aligned to the data risk taxonomy. The role evaluates established and emerging data practices and technologies to drive the team's direction, while implementing innovative processes and solutions to provide competitive advantage while meeting rigorous control and oversight mandates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify data issues and data sub-issues through collaboration with technology, risk and business partners to triage, track, and remediate to closure.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the management of data sub-issue portfolios including evaluation of data sub-issues for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate alignment with the Enterprise Issue Management Program.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly analysis of the data sub-issue registry and produce materials for presentations to executive leaders and associated committees.
  • Perform first line of defense peer reviews of stakeholder practices and materials to identify non-adherence to policies, procedures, and controls under the Enterprise Data Governance scope.
  • Create and implement processes, procedures, job aids, and technology to support policy requirements and control frameworks.
  • Drive solution design and execution of multi-pronged data governance efforts that span across platforms and business/technology areas to address enterprise data needs.
  • Support the production of metrics and measures to track progress and adherence, escalating as needed to various committees for visibility and program accountability.
  • Understand and integrate relevant regulations and industry trends into work plans, exploring emerging frameworks and assessing feasibility using proof of concepts.
  • Collaborate closely with peer teams to ensure coordination, synergy, and seamless overall execution.
  • Champion and drive improvement in enterprise data management and data governance practices throughout the organization.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, eight years of experience in roles with increasing responsibilities in technology, data management, governance, risk or related practice or equivalent education and related training or experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of Issue Management functions including issue identification, issue tracking, remediation plans, and mitigation outcomes.
  • Internal or external consulting experience.
  • Large program strategic planning/execution across multiple functions.
  • History of effective performance within shared service, matrix or federated environments
  • Knowledge of data tools and platforms used for managing, storing, querying, testing, loading and transforming data (e.g. Archer, Workfront, SQL) or relevant data certifications (e.g. CIPP, CIPM, CDMP).
  • Experience with formalized organizational assessment practices (e.g., Capability Maturity Model), including implementation of recommended improvements.
