CPA Ontario is currently in search of a Data Governance Specialist, who will be responsible for the development, management, and execution of comprehensive data governance initiatives. This role involves creating robust data solutions, optimizing the Microsoft Purview platform, ensuring high data quality, and collaborating with various teams across the organization. The Contract Data Governance Specialist is an exceptional data steward, a dynamic problem-solver, and well-versed in modern governance strategies to maintain data accuracy, consistency, and compliance at CPA Ontario.

What You'll Be Doing:

Developing and maintaining key data governance solutions (e.g., business glossary, data catalog, data quality measures, and sensitivity classification).

Administering Microsoft Purview as the primary platform champion, configuring and troubleshooting to maximize its governance capabilities.

Analyzing enterprise data using SQL, Power BI, or similar tools to detect and resolve data-related issues, and build data quality metrics.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams and Data Stewards to implement policies, standards, and best practices that enhance data integrity.

Monitoring and reporting on governance KPIs, policy compliance, and program health to inform continuous improvement.

Who You Are:

A post-secondary graduate in Business, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of Data Governance experience.

Skilled in administering enterprise-level metadata management systems (Microsoft Purview preferred) with a strong command of SQL for efficient querying and database development.

An effective communicator and strategic thinker, capable of translating technical findings into actionable insights for various stakeholders.

Proactive and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to handle multiple projects in an agile environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Adaptable and flexible, embracing change and displaying sound judgment to manage shifting priorities and occasional work outside standard hours.
