Our warehouse contains over 90 schemas with 3,000 tables and upwards of 60Tb of data. A successful candidate will have hands-on experience running ETL processes from applications to an enterprise data warehouse, as well as the ability to manage a team of technologists who maintain the database's content and performance. Job Description:

Salary Range $105,000 - $130,000

Essential Duties
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the team responsible for administering the Redshift Enterprise Data Warehouse. This primarily includes orchestrating the ETL jobs that feed the warehouse (over 3,000 jobs nightly)
  • Perform maintenance and tuning required to administer our AWS Redshift database instance. This includes the current operations of the database as well as planning for future needs
  • Oversee intake of customer requests for data warehouse additions and enrichments. This Manager role will be accountable for assessing and fulfilling customer requests
  • Fiscal accountability for the warehouse and associated tools including cloud costs, licenses, and staff.
  • Take responsibility for fostering a positive culture, upholding organizational values, and championing engagement in all its forms.
  • Collaborate across teams and actively participate in ET/ASU events and programs.


Work Environment
  • Activities primarily take place in a standard, climate-controlled office environment and may involve extended periods of sitting, standing, or moving between office spaces.
  • This role involves regular use of a computer (desktop and/or laptop), including a keyboard and mouse.
  • Responsibilities may require the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Effective communication and proficiency with a variety of technologies are essential for collaboration with the broader team.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field including two (2) years managerial experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications
  • A proven leader who has led a team of database professionals. This leader understands the strengths and weaknesses of team members and helps them develop their skillsets
  • Successful experience in a technology service role. This professional has worked with customers to meet their technological needs, communicated complex processes, and set expectations for outcomes
  • Experience implementing and supporting ETL jobs (data ingest, copy, enrichment, scheduling) on an enterprise scale. This includes using enterprise ETL tools for moving data (preferred tool is Snaplogic), familiarity with data integrations (table copy, API, FTP, pub/sub), and methods for staging and transforming data
  • Experience modeling relational database schema/tables/columns
  • Experience administering security in a relational database in AWS
  • Experience troubleshooting common database issues (duplicate keys, inefficient joins/views, DB performance issues)
  • Ability to communicate both technically (databases, relationships, performance) and functionally (processes and planning). This role will need to communicate externally (with customers), up (with technology leaders, across (with technology peers) and down (with their team of ETL developers)
