Data Warehouse Manager

Verition Fund Management LLC ("Verition") is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund founded in 2008. Verition focuses on global investment strategies including Global Credit, Global Convertible, Volatility & Capital Structure Arbitrage, Event-Driven Investing, Equity Long/Short & Capital Markets Trading, and Global Quantitative Trading.

We are seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Lead/Manager to join our technology team and support our data-driven decision-making across our hedge fund operations by scoping, planning, staffing, architecting, and managing the build out of a new modern Data Warehouse. This role will focus on assessing the firm's use cases, learning about the various domains, building relationships with our data owners and technology teams, selecting a fit for purpose technology & architecture, hiring the team, coordinating the plans, supporting the platform, etc. This role will report into the Head of Data Technology and is part of a larger Data Initiative to broaden out the firm's data capabilities. This platform will support regulatory reporting, reconciliation, historical needs, front office processes, BI reporting, intraday record storage and replay.

Responsibilities:

• Hire & Manage Team: Work with Head of Data Technology to staff team with proper resources
• Client Management: Ability to speak with Technology, Operations and Business teams to understand data usage, use cases for data warehouse, where data is stored, reporting needs
• Cloud Platform Management: Experience managing a data warehouse in the cloud, its architecture, cost management, CICD, Devops
• Data Warehouse Architecture: Coordinate with Head of Data Technology on design, components, capabilities required, reporting support, intraday and batch processing, event driven and scheduled
• Vendor Selection & Management: Need to assess vendor offerings, select and manage relationship
• Prioritization: Gather critical uses cases, design processes for each, set priorities and roadmap for delivery
• SDLC: Will own process for ideation, testing, unit tests, deployment, Jira grooming and delivery
• Engagement with Supporting Functions: Will have support, operations, Project management to coordinate and interact with to ensure proper process and controls in place

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in a similar role
• Financial services experience necessary ideally with some understanding of Portfolio Management, Trading, Risk, Reference Data, Operations, etc.
• Buy side experience (Multi Strat/Hedge Fund Preferred)
• Experience building and leading teams with various data warehouse technologies.
• AWS cloud expertise (services like S3, Lambda, Cron, Event Bridge, and operational experience in the cloud for container management like Kubernetes)
• Development and deployment process ownership experience
• BI/Power BI integration experience
• Python & SQL expertise (will not be hands off)
• System & Pipeline architecture
• Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
• Excellent communication skills to work with stakeholders across technology, investment, and operations teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Hiring and Management experience
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Salary Range

$150,000-$200,000 USD
