Job Overview
Reporting to the Data Architect, as the Database Administrator you will provide expertise in systems integration and designs/implements processes that integrate data from FTP sites and databases. You also manage and maintain database systems, ensuring high performance, security, and availability.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Administering, developing, testing, and maintaining databases, with a focus on MS SQL Server Enterprise and Standard editions.
- Optimizing MS SQL Server systems for performance efficiency.
- Creating and monitoring SSIS packages.
- Managing, configuring, and providing support for SSRS.
- Monitoring database systems to ensure secure services with minimal downtime.
- Implementing and managing database access and designing backup and recovery systems to ensure data integrity.
- Evaluating and proposing new database technologies and strategies to improve existing systems.
- Developing and managing ETL processes for data transfer between FTP sites and databases.
- Constructing and implementing database and file systems for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Managing the transfer of files and data through FTP sites.
- Developing and maintaining integrations between FTP sites and SQL Server databases, ensuring seamless data exchange.
- Adhering to and enforcing database standards and methodologies, ensuring data consistency and integrity.
- Collaborating with the IT team to understand data needs and achieve project goals.
- Regularly assessing system performance, preparing reports, and suggesting improvements.

Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in database administration.
- Advanced knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, and integrity with SQL Server.
- Experience with MS SQL Server Enterprise edition, including database design, documentation, and coding.
- Ability to develop and manage ETL processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint) and MS SQL Server Enterprise and Standard editions, including Always On High Availability.
- Ability to configure, manage, and troubleshoot Windows Cluster, SQL FCI Cluster, SQL Always On, Database Replication.
- Proficient understanding of SaaS based SQL services/On-premises data gateways, FTP protocols, and FTP sites.
- Ability to setup, configure, and execute ETL operations, integrating FTP sites and SQL Server databases.
