Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Analytics and Database Specialist to join our Business Intelligence team. This role is critical for designing, implementing, and maintaining our database systems, as well as building stored procedures to consolidate core data tables for unlocking valuable insights in our business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management and data analytics, coupled with excellent problem-solving abilities. Beyond the data engineering, the candidate will work closely with the Senior Director to enhance business intelligence through strategic costing analyses and predictive modeling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Design, Implementation, and maintenance:
    • Design, develop, and implement robust database systems tailored to meet the needs of our division and business.
    • Ensure database systems are optimized for performance and scalable.
    • Develop and manage stored procedures to consolidate core data tables, enabling efficient data processing and retrieval.
    • Ensure data consolidation processes are accurate, efficient, and maintain the integrity of the data.
    • Perform regular maintenance of database systems to ensure data integrity and availability.
    • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Data Analysis and Insight Generation:
    • Analyze consolidated data to generate actionable insights that drive business decisions and strategies.
    • Collaborate with various departments to understand data requirements and provide analytical support.
  • Strategic Costing Analysis and Predictive Modeling:
    • Work closely with the Senior Director to unlock business intelligence through strategic costing analyses and predictive modeling.
    • Utilize advanced analytical techniques to forecast trends and support business planning.
    • Analyze and manage healthcare KPIs including referral volumes, length of stay, cost per service, outcomes, and clinician productivity.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Engage with stakeholders across various business divisions to gather requirements, provide insights, and support data-driven decision-making.
    • Foster strong relationships to ensure effective communication and collaboration on data initiatives.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database structures, processes, and procedures.
    • Create and distribute regular reports on database performance, data integrity, and analytical findings.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in database design, implementation, and maintenance, particularly in a healthcare setting
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Tools (e.g., Warehouse, Lakehouse, OneLake, Synapse)
  • Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence tools (Power BI)
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Knowledge of cloud database solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
