Job description

Infosys is looking for Database Architect who will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining complex database systems within an organization, ensuring optimal data storage, access, and performance by creating efficient data models, analyzing business requirements, and selecting appropriate database technologies to meet future scalability. Experienced in SQL, PostgreSQL & Mongo, expertise in designing, modeling, & Performance Tuning. Familiar with concepts and designs of Micro DB & exposure to Azure, compliance & security concepts at DB level. Exposure to Insurance domain will be an added benefit.

Key Competencies:

• Data Modeling and Design: Develop comprehensive data models to represent business entities and relationships, including conceptual, logical, and physical designs.
• Database Architecture Selection: Evaluate and recommend suitable database technologies (relational, NoSQL, cloud-based) based on performance requirements and data volume.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze database queries, identify bottlenecks, and implement strategies to improve database performance and scalability.
• Data Governance: Establish data quality standards and implement data governance policies to ensure data integrity and consistency.
• Integration with Applications: Collaborate with developers to integrate database systems with applications and ensure seamless data flow.
• Capacity Planning: Monitor database usage and predict future data storage needs to proactively manage database capacity.
• Security Implementation: Design and implement database security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access.
• Disaster Recovery: Create and maintain database backup and recovery plans to mitigate data loss in case of emergencies.

Required Qualifications:

• Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Phoenix, AZ or Richardson, TX or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel in the US
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 7 years of Information Technology experience.
• A strong understanding of data analytics best practices, standards, and guidelines; and experience with applying the same to produce high visibility AI solutions / products
• Expertise with at least 5+ years of experience in various database management systems (DBMS) like Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (entity-relationship diagrams, normalization).
• Advanced knowledge of SQL query writing and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database services like AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database.
• Ability to analyze data usage patterns and identify potential performance issues
• Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand business requirements
• Understanding of planning, design, management, execution, and reporting of the core components needed for enterprise solution

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face to face. Extensive travel may be required as per client and project needs.
