The Title IV-E Education Program Database Specialist reports to the Title IV-E Program Supervisor and will coordinate the operations of the Salesforce-based California Custom Student Information System (CSIS) and assist with the continuous quality improvement and maintenance of data collection and storage systems consistent with the execution of the CA Title IV-E Program mission and goals.

The Database Specialist serves as a liaison and collaborates with Title IV-E stakeholders to ensure data collection and management in CSIS meets stakeholders' diverse and dynamic information needs. This position will work closely in a highly collaborative manner with the data and evaluation team at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), which is the Southern site of the CA Title IV-E Education Program.

The Database Specialist will lead the Northern region data input and output to ensure accuracy of data and database standards, and serve as a lead contact for the Northern region schools for all data and technical support. The Database Specialist assists with change management processes, documentation of processes, monitoring data security and confidentiality compliance, and assessing data integrity. The Database Specialist conducts data analysis and supports various evaluation and reporting mechanisms in an effective, timely and cost-efficient manner. The Database Specialist will document, report, coordinate, and collaborate with UCLA in integrating stakeholder feedback regarding data information needs and refine practices using a customer service approach.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
Bachelor's degree in business technology, data analytics, information systems, social work, psychology, or related field, or equivalent experience on substantial data coordination and program evaluation experience.
Experience working with complex data systems such as learning management systems, customer relationship management (e.g., Salesforce) systems, student information systems, or service/case management platforms, including testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting email triggers and automations.
Experience working independently and collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, establishing and fostering cooperative and collaborative working relationships. Effective oral and written communication skills to engage and collaborate productively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Experience in data management and data analysis with a focus on best practices with data governance and maintaining keen attention to detail.
Experience in program evaluation and developing, preparing and designing reports, dashboards, and data visuals for a range of audiences and data literacy levels.
Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Demonstrated strong interest and ability to learn, if not skilled in, software and web apps (e.g., Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills; Box; Google Workspace; Calendly; Canva; Tableau); at least one statistical software (R, Stata, SPSS); and at least one of the following Survey Platforms (Qualtrics, Alchemer, SurveyMonkey, QuestionPro, with Qualtrics and Alchemer strongly preferred).

Preferred Qualifications
Experience monitoring, coordinating, and documenting Salesforce solutions including (but not limited to): formula fields, templates, dashboards and reports.
Experience testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting pre-configured rules and triggers in Salesforce.

Department Specific Job Scope
Human Services, a department within UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education (CPE), provides continuing education and professional development programs for the human services workforce throughout California. Within UC Davis Human Services, the California Title IV-E Education Program provides specialized professional education and monetary support to undergraduate and graduate students who intend to pursue or continue a social work career in the field of public child welfare. In partnership with the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), UC Davis Human Services has responsibility for administering this program for the 10 schools of social work in the Northern, Bay Area and Central regions of the state.
