Description:
Wiley University is seeking a Dean of Education and Sciences, the dean is responsible for leading the school of Education and sciences in the direction of all personnel in the division and the quality of academic instruction.
Primary Responsibilities:
MARKETING AND RECRUITING Creating public/private strategic alliances with area, regional or national organizations to maintain a need-based pragmatic curriculum to secure in-kind services, internships, grants and permanent job placement opportunities. Working closely with University admissions staff to identify and recruit potential students for divisional programs. Ensures an effective web presence for the division. ADMISSION AND REGISTRATION Providing orientation for new professors to divisional policies, procedures, and expectations for the division and the University as a whole. Planning and generating faculty assignments and teaching loads to ensure quality of academic delivery. Ensuring that faculty members utilize the approved standardized syllabus incorporating general education competencies in all general education courses. Working on General Education curricula to ensure that best practices are implemented to ensure a conducive learning environment for all students. Adjusting class offerings and size, as required, when actual enrollment does not match or exceeds projected enrollment. PROGRAM ASSESSMENT AND ACCREDITATION COMPLIANCE Supervising faculty and staff and maintaining performance reviews and records. Assessing student learning outcomes to demonstrate institutional effectiveness. Maintaining an academic performance database for the division. Coordinating the division's curriculum, including developing and recommending any modification in course prerequisites, course requirements, and program content and course sequences; making recommendations for new programs and/or majors. Conducting annual performance evaluations for all faculty within the division. Maintaining assessment practices within each unit in the School. Compliance reviews for SACSCOC and TEA.
D. ACADEMICS
Coordinating professional development activities for faculty and staff. Encouraging and facilitating faculty research, effective teaching, and community service. Encouraging faculty to write proposals for submission to external agencies and implementing supported research initiatives. Teaching within the subject field.

QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctorate and a minimum of five years of teaching experience in one of the academic areas of the School. A record of scholarly accomplishments, teaching and administrative experience on a college or university level, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to work effectively with students and peers in support of the College's mission are also required.
