Position Purpose
Leads in coherent design and implementation of instructional practices, professional development, and assessment aligned to District initiatives and goals. Advances the vision of Learning and Leading in Fort Worth ISD. In collaboration with campus administration and Learning and Leading staff, supports teachers in implementing a coherent strategy to support all learners with a focus on student academic support initiatives. Ensures that the campus learning practices are designed to close achievement and opportunity gaps to ensure equity for historically marginalized students. Provides instructional leadership support to Campus Principals to improve instructional practices and increase student achievement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Instructional & Program Management
- Assists with monitoring Professional Learning Communities that create positive relationships with teachers and administrators while fostering a team culture of open sharing, risk taking and shared leadership, to work effectively as a team.
- Coaches and develops teachers and staff, by giving individual feedback and aligned professional development opportunities.
- Leads efforts with departments to schedule and strategize to provide opportunities beyond the normal school day learning.
- Leads initiatives to establish or expand activities that will provide opportunities for academic acceleration and enrichment.
- Takes a leadership approach to planning activities, outlines and tracks clear goals, tracks targets and strategies to ensure attainment of the school's mission and goals.
- Monitors and ensures high-quality instruction practices among teachers and staff that improve student performance.
- Monitors multiple forms of student data to inform instruction and intervention decisions to maximize student achievement.
- Reinforces expectations for staff performance with regard to classroom management.
- Works with the external and internal stakeholders to support the planning and management of the instructional programming of the campus.
- Prepares presentations to stakeholders regarding instructional programs.
- Collaborates with the Division of Learning and Leading personnel to ensure successful student academic outcomes across grade levels.
- Collaborates with Fort Worth After School Programs (FWAS) and READ Fort Worth.
- Participates in development of campus improvement plans with staff, parents, and community members.
- Collaborates with District staff to implement District policies, and advocates for the needs of District students and staff.
- Maintains detailed physical and computerized departmental files.
- Compiles, maintains, and files all reports, records, and other documents required.
- Provides regular updates of instructional activities and services to appropriate audiences.
- Coordinates a systemic framework to monitor the quality and implementation of instruction and academic support initiatives; plans, and makes recommendations for adjustments, as needed.
- Collaborates across departments/divisions to align research-based and culturally responsive curriculum, practices, strategies, and resources to support the needs of all student populations.
- Coaches and mentors teachers to build instructional skills and capacity.
- Creates and provides guidance for effective, research-based teaching practices.
- Ensures practices are aligned across departments to meet the needs of all students to ensure coherence across the campus.
- Leads professional learning along with other Learning and Leading personnel regarding student academic initiatives.
- Stays abreast of current research and trends in curriculum development and instruction.
- Communicates the latest developments in curriculum and innovative instructional techniques and programs to improve student achievement.
- Provides support for the Learning and Leading Division around curriculum and the implementation of curricular initiatives.
- Implements effective and efficient assessment systems and data collection processes that provide a record of baseline measures and track longitudinal trends.
Safety
- Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.

- Knowledge of current District instructional programs, scheduling, and applicable policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of school curriculum and concepts in multiple areas, including general and special education, at the elementary, middle, and high school levels
- Knowledge of best practices in administration, program evaluation, and staff supervision.
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of effective research-based strategies, theories, techniques, and methodologies.
- Skill in written and oral communication skills including ability to interact with and influence all levels of district service center and campus staff as well as parents.
- Ability to direct and organize program activities.
- Ability to establish program goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

Travel Requirements
- Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computers and peripherals.
- Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
- Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of a mouse; occasional reaching.
- Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).

Minimum Required Qualifications
- Education:
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university required.
- Degree in School Administration preferred.
- Certification/License:
- Eligible for a Valid Texas Teaching Certification required.
- Valid Texas Mid-Management or Principal Certification preferred.
- Out of state applicants must be currently certified from another state, attach a copy of your valid certification and become Texas Certified prior to being hired
- Experience:
- 3 years successful teaching experience required;
- 2 years of school leadership experience required;
- 2 years of Data Analyst or Instructional Coach experience preferred;
- 2 years of Literacy experience preferred;
- Experience in inner-city schools with diverse populations is preferred.
