- 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in defense litigation with an emphasis on professional liability
- Broad experience representing defendants in both trial and appellate courts in professional liability/malpractice matters on behalf of various professionals including attorneys and a wide range of complex commercial and employment litigation matters
- Experience handling all aspects of pre-trial caseload, including taking depositions; preparing/answering discovery; preparing/answering and arguing motions; preparing trial documents; and related work
- Knowledge of Pennsylvania and Federal Court rules, PA county court practices and civil filing procedures
- Excellent writing and research skills
- Careful analysis with clarity and forcefulness of expression
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle a high volume of cases
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and complete simultaneous projects
- Ability to convey complex legal issues clearly, both verbally and in writing, to attorneys and non-attorneys
- Ability to travel to Court appearances and other events in Pennsylvania and the region
- Pennsylvania Bar admission required; New Jersey and/or New York Bar admission a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, and knowledge of iManage or similar document management system); Proficiency in online legal research (Westlaw or similar)
- Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, professional staff and peers
- 5+ years of litigation experience including handling professional liability/malpractice claims and complex commercial litigation matters for a position in its Center City location.
- Pennsylvania Bar admission required; New Jersey and/or New York Bar Admission a plus.
